The Glorious Eleven

My one year anniversary as a Nakama blog contributor just passed recently (Gold Medal Post) and it just so happens that the anniversary of all time just passed as well. I prefer to avoid performance reviews at typical milestones mostly because I don’t want to be stuck in a mindset where I only allow myself to improve or adapt starting next year, quarter, month, round, lap, set, etc.  I believe that we can make adjustments this instant.

Since I’m not nearly as cool as I want to be, and entirely omitted any type of recap over this past year, now is as good of a time as ever to do so.  Here are a couple great questions to ask yourself:

Am I happy with where I have lead my life this year?  *please note that it is very important that these questions are asked verbatim as you are accountable for the direction of your life (in most cases, anyway)*

Has the career path I’ve lead over the past 12 months been invigorating to my brain, soul, and bank account?

Have I treated my mother/father/grandparent(s)/significant other(s)/business partner/et cetra the way I would want to be treated?

Have I even treated myself the way I want to be treated?  *this is not limited to how much dope gear you bought for yourself or how many vacations you’ve treated yourself to; inquire also about your state of physical fitness, mental health, life balance, goals on the horizon, and on and on…*

We must strive to keep in mind that if you can read this, you most likely have the opportunity to do what you need to do (starting this instant) to get what you want (which most likely comes later).  It all really starts with how much you really want it.

Oh yea, happy Chinese New Year!
